Efrén Garcia

Efrén Garcia is a seasoned legal advisor with over 18 years of experience in intellectual property, technology transactions, corporate litigation, and human resources. Currently serving as Senior Counsel at Silicon Laboratories Inc., he leads compliance initiatives and oversees corporate governance and government affairs for the publicly traded semiconductor company.

Prior to this role, Efrén was General Counsel at Atlas Technology, where he managed legal functions for the organization's crypto mining and Web 3.0 infrastructure services. He also served as Chief Legal Officer and Chief Compliance Officer at Southwest Key Programs, overseeing legal and compliance operations for a $1B organization dedicated to supporting unaccompanied immigrant children.

Efrén's diverse experience includes leadership positions at GTS Technology Solutions, Vinson & Elkins LLP, and Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. He holds a Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Rice University.

As a board member of the Science Mill, Efrén brings his extensive legal expertise and passion for education to support the organization's mission of inspiring and engaging students in STEM learning. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Cyndi, and his two boys, Josh and Matthew.
