March Homeschool Day: The Human Body

The Human Body is a complex system, with many different functions and structures. Guests will create model knee braces and lungs, and faculty from UT Austin will lead cow heart dissection classes!

ACTIVITIES

Brace Builder - Guests will create a brace that can stabilize a model knee that has been injured

Build-a-Bone - Guests will discover how our body’s framework supports us by creating a skeleton using Q-tips

DIY Stethoscope - Guests will build and test a stethoscope using household materials

LEARNING LABS

UT Cow Heart Dissection - All Learning Labs will be facilitated by faculty from the University of Texas Austin! They will walk students through a cow dissection activity.

STEM SCHOLAR HOUR (2:30 PM - 3:30 PM)

Students will continue working on their Exhibit Design Process and interview Science Mill staff to help guide their project.
